A Thomas County native, Mr. Dunbar had lived here all his life. He served in the U.S. Army in 1954, and was honorably discharged. He was proprietor of Dunbar's Bar-B-Que and Catering Services. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, a son of the late Charlie Dunbar Sr. and Ida Ray Dunbar. He was married to the former Arleatha Jane Hopkins. Mr. Dunbar was an adult Sunday school teacher, on the Senior Usher Board, in the Senior Choir, the Male Choir and on the Trustee Board. He was a deacon at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of Douglass High School. Mr. Dunbar is survived by his wife, Arleatha Jane Hopkins Dunbar, Thomasville; son, the Rev. Paul L. Dunbar (Sandra), Warner Robins; daughter, Natalie Sullivan (Marvin), Thomasville; sons, Rev. Charlie Dunbar III (Altheia), Thomasville, and Larry Dunbar, (Danielle) Warner Robins; sisters, Jessie Lee Robinson (Collins), Thomasville, Sarah Perkins (Floyd), Thomasville, Mary L. Virgil (Leo), Thomasville, Ida M. Mack (William), Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., Hattie B. Johnson (Author), Albany, and Martha F. Boyd (Henry), St. Petersburg Fla.; brothers, Samuel Dunbar, Hartford, Conn., Clifford Dunbar (Gladys), Thomasville, Henry Dunbar (Jacqueline), Thomasville, Joseph Dunbar (Clara), Thomasville, George Dunbar (Diane), Killeen, Texas, and Roscoe Dunbar (Gaina), Thomasville; six grandchildren, Martin Dunbar, Statesboro, Whitney Sullivan, Valdosta, Maria Dunbar, Thomasville, Winfield Varner, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Desmond Dunbar, Warner Robins, and Trey Dunbar, Warner Robins; uncles, Clarence Ray (Susie), Tallahassee, Fla., and James Ray, New York; aunts, Carrie Ray, St. Petersburg, Martha Ruth Powell, Tallahassee, Eloise George, California, Iola Leeland, Miscosukee, Fla., and Betty Jones (Roosevelt), Miscosukee; brothers-in-law, John Hopkins (Bernita), Tacoma, Wash., Ananias Hopkins Jr. (Rosetta), Thomasville, the Rev. E.H. Hopkins, Thomasville, and Benjamin Hopkins, Thomasville; sister-in-law, Catherine A.
