Husband of Alice Virlinda Flournoy. Father of two daughters . Homer was a teacher, and owner of general store in Owasso, Tulsa Co., Oklahoma. Age : 81. founder of the first store in Owasso, Oklahoma died after a 5-week illness in a Tulsa hospital. Started the general store in 1900 , the year after the town was founded. Graduate of the old Cherokee male seminary at Tahlequah. He taught school at Ketchum and Fairland before moving to Owasso. A part-Cherokee Indian, he was a member of the Cherokee tribal council since it was revived in 1947. As a council member he had been active in pressing claims on land in Texas once owned by the tribe. Tulsa-Whisenhunt funeral home handled arrangments. Picture of him is in the November 11, 1960 Tulsa Daily World newspaper.

One daughter was married to Harley Van Cleave, who ran for mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma at one time. The other daughter was Bonnie Brown who taught at an Indian reservation near Gallup, N.M.His wife was Alice Virlinda Flournoy.
