Addis was the first child of Jens Marinus and Ane Marie (Nikolaisen) Jensen. Seven siblings followed him.

He married Esther Riber on January 19, 1932. They raised their family in Ruskin, KS. They had two sons: George G. Jensen and Willard S. Jensen.

Addis Jensen, one of seven children of J.M. and Marie Nikelaisen Jensen, was born on a farm near Hardy December 5, 1908, and passed away January 28, 1981, at the Jewell County Hospital in Mankato, Kansas, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 23 days.

He attended school at the Hardy Public Schools and attended Dana College. He lived most of his life in the Hardy and Ruskin areas, where he was engaged in farming.

January 19, 1932, he was united in marriage to Esther Riber. This union was blessed with two sons.

Addis was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, where he was baptised, confirmed and married. He had served the church council and was a Sunday school teacher. He served on the school board of District #29, was a 4-H leader for a number of years, was a charter member of the Ruskin Lions Club and served on Ruskin's town board several years, he worked for the U.S. Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.

Preceding him in death were both his parents and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of Ruskin; two sons, George of Mankato, Kansas, and Willard of Osceola; grandchildren, Deb and Wesley Alexander, Jay, Kevin and Janae Jensen and Chris and Douglas Jensen; 3 brothers, Harley of Superior, Clair of Omaha and Otto of Eugene, Oregon; 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Marian) Nelson of Eugene, Oregon, and Mrs. Carrol (Carla Marie) Madsen of Eugene, Oregon, and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Services were held Saturday, January 31, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin with Pastor John Sorenson officiating. Burial was in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin. Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
