John Hunter, 82, of Rushville, passed away at 6:30PM Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in Rushville. John was born June 21, 1927 in Kemmerer, WY to Stephen and Elizabeth (Moore) Hunter, both deceased. He married Dorothy E. Bannister on April 30, 1948 and she survives. John had lived in Rushville since 1956. He worked for the Schnadig Corporation from 1956 unitl 1981 where he retired as plant manager. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge F & AM, active as a leader in the Rushville Boy Scouts, member of the Raintree Carvers and the Chip O' Tex Carvers clubs and the Road Runners square dancing group. John was an avid camper and spent many years after retirement seeing the countryside in an RV. John was a US Army WW2 Veteran and was graduated from Ogden High in Utah in the class of 1945. In addition to his wife, John leaves behind his sons, John Stephen & wife Patricia A. Hunter of Rushville, William J. & Paula D. Hunter of Troy, OH, daughters, Elizabeth Ann & husband Stephen Flint of Indianapolis, Jean & husband Larry Johnson of Rushville, Jan & husband Brad Sutter, MD of Indianapolis, 12 grandchildren, John Flint & Abigail (Seth)Lentz; Brian (Brandi) Johnson & Melinda (Drew) Dora; Kristin (AJ) Johnson & Whitney (Brian)Coles; Justin (Kara) Hunter, Andrew (Christine) Hunter, Patrick Hunter & Joe Hunter; Blake (Amy) Hunter & Stephani Hunter, and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stephen Clyde Hunter. Pastor's Nan Chizmar & Phil Mitchell will preside.
