Original Documents show Mary Price Rinehart was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Her father John Price Jr. was a resident of the county between 1782 and 1800 as shown in Shenandoah County Tax Records, FamilySearch Digital Record 7856300. Her grandfather John Price Sr. wrote his will there 10 April 1780 leaving land to Mary's father John Price Jr. "I give and bequeath to my son John Price one hundred acres of land, be the same more or less where he is now in possession...Further, it is my request and desire that my three sons, John Price, Edward Price and Thos. Price pay to Samson Price ten pounds...when he comes of age and to my son Zacha's Price ten pounds...Proof of siblings of john Price Jr., Mary's father, which do not match family of John Price of Halifax County. Tax records further show brothers Edward, Thomas and Sampson as residents in Shenandoah County. Proof of siblings of Mary Price Rinehart found in Shenandoah County Deed Record Book X page 312. Proof of Mother Sarah, maiden name not given, in Shenandoah County Court Records, 1817, Account of the Appraisal of Estate and Sale Bill of personal estate of Sarah Price deceased. Named in Sale Bill are Adam Rinehart, Mary's husband and Mary's brothers: Henry Price, William Price, Stephen Price and Christopher Price. Also named was brother in law Hugh Burns, husband of sister Mildred.
Mother was not Sarah Nelson, unmarried daughter of John Nelson and Sarah Whitson. Grandmother was not Sarah or Mary Randolph.
