MERCED - Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Ivers & Alcorn chapel for Charles Henry Romine, 63, of Snelling, who died in a Modesto hospital Wednesday. Burial is in the Haven of Rest Cemetery.

Romine, a native of Oklahoma, lived in Snelling six years. He was a veteran of World War II.

Romine leaves his widow, Eula; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Taylor and Mrs. Dorothy McKelvey, both of La Grange, Mrs. Joan Gartman of Garden Grove and Mrs. Bonnie Head of Oklahoma; six sons, J. C. and Frank T. Romine and Bill Atchison, all of Oklahoma, Steve Romine of Trona, Jim Atchison of Redding and Chuck Atchison of Snelling; two brothers, Bill of Oklahoma and Harley Romine of New Mexico; a sister, Mrs. Mary Tyson of Texas; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
