NOT THEIR PHOTO

Thomas I. Bidwell married Frances V. Bishop, 7 December 1873 in Yuma county, Arizona. (Western States Marriage Index)

Frances and Thomas had two children, Allena (born 1875 in Arizona Territory) and Rolfe (born 1876 in Nevada). It seems likely Frances (and perhaps Thomas) was only in Gold Hill to stay with her sister during her confinement. Thomas returned to Yuma county, Arizona, and is censused there in June 1880. Their children are censused in Gold Hill in 1880 with Ovid and Allena (Bishop) Rolfe, Frances's sister and brother-in-law.

There was an article related to Thomas J. Bidwell in the October 2008 issue of Wild West. It is (as of 2021) extensively summarized on the HistoryNet.com website as "Bidwell: Forgotten Founder of Tombstone?" The article relates the lawsuit of the Rolfes against Richard Gird, claiming that Thomas had been a partner with Gird in the silver mines of Tombstone, Arizona. It contains much information on Thomas Bidwell.

DOB from online article; POB from censuses. POD from obituary.

His photos are almost always stock and historical photos of unidentified people, and not those named in the memorials. Some photos were used multiple times. Data such as full birth dates and places (when not shown on the gravestone) have no source and were invented. If you added these photos and "facts" from the indexed version of this memorial to your family tree, please be sure to verify everything carefully.
