Emma V Merriman was the daughter of Nathaniel Merriman and his first wife Olive Celestia Skinner. She married Thomas D. Tice. Her obituary 1922 read: Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Emma V. Tice. A large number of friends of Mrs. Emma V. Tice and her family attended West Chapel in Bozeman Sunday afternoon, many coming from the Madison where the family formerly lived, and from Willow Creek, as well as from Manhattan, where Mrs. Tice has made her home for a few years, and where she died at the home of her daughter Mrs. J.J. Romine. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The service at the chapel was conducted by the Rev. A.L. Chapman of Bozeman, the singers being Mrs. J.H. Harris, Mrs. AJ Walrath, A.E.
