FUNERALS

EDWIN T. BROWNELL

POWNAL — Family services were held at Hanson - Walbridge Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon for Edwin Thomas Brownell, World War II veteran. The Rev. John C. Hatch, his pastor, of Pownal officiated and gave the committal prayers at Oak Hill Cemetery, where burial took place.

Mr. Brownell, who was a technical sergeant with Sqdn. C., 2517th Army Air Force Base unit, served with the Air Offensive in Europe, the Rome Arno Southern France, the North Appenines and the Rhineland. He received the air medal with four oak leaf clusters, the good conduct medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater campaign ribbon and the Distinguished Unit badge.

Military honors were accorded Mr. Brownell and the flag was folded by Kenneth Baker of the American Legion, past commander of Post No. 13, and Connie Blake, vice commander of Post No. 13. Mr. Baker presented the flag to Mrs. Belle Brownell.
