James Betz, a World War Veteran, died Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. at the home of Thomas Becker, 736 North railroad Street, Palmyra. Death was attributed to complications. He had been bedfast four weeks. Born in Millcreek Township, Lebanon County, he was a son of Peter Betz. He served overseas in the World War. Four children survive: Mrs. Thomas Becker, Mrs. Daniel Seltzer, and Mrs. Russel McCurdy, of Palmyra; and Stanley, of Sheridan, R.D. 1. Two brothers also survive: William, of Lebanon; and Charles, of Newmanstown; also a number of grandchildren. His wife died in May.
