Death: Apr. 8, 1942

1964 Aug 11, Waterloo Daily Courier, P2, Waterloo, Iowa
Committal services for Mrs. Olive Jermann were at 10 a. m Tuesday in Waterloo Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. C. H. Petterson, pastor of Grace Methodist church, officiating and Kearns-Dykeman funeral home in charge.

At the time of her death April 4, 1942, at Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Jermann was 69 years old. The body has been in a cemetery there and was brought to Waterloo for burial beside her husband, Ambrose Jermann, who died last June 30. They were married in 1902 and lived in Waterloo prior to moving to Tampa in 1933. Surviving is a son, Lyle E. Jermann, of 1028 Independence Ave.

Note: Olive was born in 1872 and died 1942 at 70 years. She married Ambrose Jermann and they had one son, Lyle. Olive was the second child and the oldest daughter of Isaac James and Mary C. Ortman Parks. As a young lady she did work as a seamstress before her marriage. It is believed that Olive and two sisters, Nettie and Mae, had a shop in Danbury, Iowa where she worked as a seamstress, dressmaker and a milliner. After her marriage to Ambrose, she lived in Remsen, Iowa and was a wonderful homemaker and did beautiful needle work for the rest of her life.

When Ambrose and Olive retired, they moved to Florida where they lived 6 to 7 years before Olive passed away. Ambrose later married Eleanor Snyder Leto of Florida but was separated by divorce in 1954. Ambrose returned to Waterloo to be close to his son Lyle and family. Lyle buried Ambrose in Waterloo, Iowa, then had Olive's body returned to Waterloo where she was buried beside Ambrose.
