Hammers)The order of appearance of their children isn't necessarily the order of their birth for all birth dates aren't known. 1. BENNETT ARENDELL born December 22. 1777 in possibly Granville County, North Carolina (or may have been Warren or Franklin Counties as these two counties were already formed at this time from Granville County). He married Carey Cooper 1800 - 1805. This marriage hasn't been found and is only family tradition that Carey's last name was Cooper. Carey was also born in North Carolina. Their children: William b. November 6,1805 Kentucky m. Sarah Brown. Lived Butler County. Williford b. January 3,1810 Butler County m. Mary Ewing in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Lived Butler County. Faitha b. February 10,1818. m. John Mefford in Butler County. Lived Butler County. 2. JOHN, JR. b. 1 m. Elizabeth _____ (her name from a Spartanburg County, South Carolina deed) never came to Kentucky. Logan and Butler County tax lists and census prove this. May have remained in Spartanburg. 3. SAMUEL b. ? died in 1835 Butler County. Wife's name not known. He died of small pox as given in Butler County Circuit Court" file number 1228 and in which his heirs are given. Butler, County marriages tell us who his children married. Thomas J. b. 1819 Butler County d. 1884 in Texas. His vital statistics are from Ed Manley who had corresponded with a descendant many years ago but never divulged his source. Thomas J. was found in the 1850 Anderson County, Texas Census. He had married Mary "Polly" Williams in Butler County November 13, 1835. John, b. 1, married Mary Terry in Butler County, April 2, 1828. Last in Butler County 1840 Census. Nothing else known. Sally, b. ? married John Mefford and they had two children: Henry and John Mefford. Her husband, John, died and she married next Jacob Mefford. This information from Circuit Court file 1228 of Butler County. No further research done on this family.
