BLISS A BATES-75:
died Wednesday midnight [10-30] at Greenville Hosp following a lingering illness. Born 3 Sep 1888 in Jamestwn, a son of DrChasR & Carrie Luke Bates, he was a retired Great Lakes seaman. MrBates also had served with the Coast Guard during WW1.
Survivors include 3 cousins: Susan (sp-Thos) Boyd-Cleveland; Nellie (sp-Robert) Smith & Miss Norma Bates-both Jamestown.

NOTE--Sharon Herald obit of 10/31 is just 3 lines-no funeral info found thru 11/4-this is likely from The Greenville Argus
