Deacon Swep Bell Jr.- was born in Plateau, AL, to the union of Swep and Mary Bell on July 4, 1924. A native of Plateau, AL, and a resident of Los Angeles, CA, departed this life on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital. His parents, sister, and three brothers preceded him in death. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of the First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Deacon's Board and was a member of the choir. He later became a member of the F.A.M.E. Church, Los Angeles, CA., where he continued serving the Lord as a member of the Brookinaires Choir, Finance Com-mittee and the Crusaders Club. He attended Mobile County Training School and served in the United State Army. He worked at Brookley Air Force Base and the Pensacola Naval Base. He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted family; wife Ruby Bell, Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Estella Bell, Gwendolyn (Jimmie) Carr, of Mobile, AL, Viola DeRico, Montgomery, AL, Gloria Bell of Detroit, MI; sons Edwin (Essie) Bell, Detroit MI, Alvin (Annie) Bell, Los Angeles, CA, Dwight (Marsha) Bell, Reginald (Ann) Bell of Mobile, AL; the mother of his children Lola Mae Bell of Mobile, AL; sisters Agnes Crenshaw, Bessemer, AL, Geneva Runderson of Mobile, AL; one brother Willie (Martha) Bell of Mobile, AL; twenty grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Minnie McIntyre, Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Lamar D. Brady officiating.
