Roy D. Sides, son of James Roy Sides and Bertha Casteel, married Elma Jean Kimm of St. John, Washington, on Feb. 4, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Army, and had recently been discharged when he and three friends drowned in a boating accident on Rock Lake, Washington. Sides lived in Malden, Washington, at the time of his death. His body was not found, but a marker to the four men exists at Pine City Cemetery.
