The daughter of Thomas Barton who was born in Missouri, and Sallie Combs, who was born in Kentucky, she was married at the time of her death, caused by meningitis following measles, according to her death certificate which was signed by Clifford Vance of Moberly Missouri.

Mrs. Stella Smith, 43 years old, died at the family home, three miles northeast of Moberly, at 6 o'clock this morning, following an illness of short duration. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Frate Smith and four daughters: Mrs. Clifford Vance of near Moberly; Mrs. Ollie Comstock, Moberly; Mrs. Leslie Wright, of East St. Louis, Ill., and Miss Edith Smith, of near Moberly. Her mother, Mrs. Sallie Barton of this city, a sister, Mrs. E. B. Davis, of Moberly, and a grandson, Wilbur Vance, also are left to mourn her death. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Baptist church at Hickory Grove. Funeral services will be held Sunday.
