Clara M. Gange passed away March 30, 2010, in Bremerton. She was born Dec 6, 1925 in Corcoran, CA, to Clarence and Hazel (Calkins) Brady.

She attended the Visalia School of Aeronautics in Porterville, CA, and served as a US Marine during World War II as a military transportation truck driver. She attained the rank of Sgt in the Marine Reserves.

Clara was a life member of the Fleet Reserve Association and was the chair of the Americanism committee for 22 years. She visited local schools, teaching 3rd graders about Americanism and the American flag, and was affectionately known as "the flag lady."

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hazel; and a brother, David. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dennis; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Gange of Bismarck, ND and Peter Gange (Norma) of Tishomingo, MS; sisters-in-law, Marie Gange of Minot, ND and Theresa Bolkan (Harland) of Parshall, ND; nephews, Rory and Terry Bolkan of Parshall, ND; and a niece, Waverly Hagen (Allen) and her son, Ryan, of Auburn, WA.

A graveside service for Clara will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton followed by a reception at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
