Franklin B. Tebeau
SPRINGFIELD - Franklin B. Tebeau, 92, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at Effingham Extended Care.
The Effingham County native was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church.
He retired from farming and Springfield Ford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Tebeau and Belle Berry Tebeau.
"Uncle Frank" was special to all for his sense of humor and his love for us growing up. He was like a "second father" to his nieces and nephews and children of close family friends. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard which he kept immaculate. He also took pride in decorating his Christmas trees and won many blue ribbons over the years.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Evelyn Trowell Tebeau of Springfield; sister- in-law, Louise Trowell Tebeau of Kildare; brother- in-law, Loy Trowell (Rae Maree) of Union City, CA; nieces, Rose Mary Tebeau of Springfield, Evelyn Graham (Carey) of Springfield, and Linn Trowell (Rudy) of Union City, CA; nephews, Bobby Tebeau (Patricia) of Springfield, Billy Tebeau (Sue) of Kildare, and Clark Trowell (Joann) of California; a number of great- nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews; his caregivers, Mary Thomas and Jane Smith.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Springfield United Methodist Church. Mr. Tebeau will lie in state from 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
