"John 'Ollie' Littrell, 80, father of a local woman, died Monday evening at St Francis Hospital, Marceline, Mo., following a brief illness.

Services will be held Thursday at the Methodist Church in Mendon, Mo. Burial will be in Mendon.

He was born Dec. 5, 1897, and married Oneida Scott of Streator in 1930. He spent his young years farming in the Ransom area and was a frequent visitor to Streator.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Lois) Overocker of Streator and Mrs. Marvin (Bettie) Arp of Brunswick, Mo.; one son, Wilbur Littrell of Kansas City, Mo.; five sisters, including Mrs. Rube Bailey of Odell; one brother; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters and three brothers." The Times (Streator, Illinois), April 26, 1978
