Oliver Lisle married Miss Nancy Moore on 24 October 1880 in Dallas County, Texas. The couple moved to Young County following their marriage settling in the Mountain Home Community.
He was an early circuit-riding Church of Christ preacher. He was an Elder and Charter member of Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. Mr. Listle was a farmer, rancher, and teamster in his lifetime.
Services for Oliver D. Lisle, a longtime resident of Young County were officiated by Thomas McDonald, minister of the Eastside Church of Christ. Mr. Lisle was well known and well-loved in the county. He died Tuesday at sunset, after a severe illness of two years.
Survived by his wife; nine children - Edward Lisle, Jeff Lisle, Henry Lisle, Roger Lisle, Frank Lisle, Mrs. Susie Price, Mrs. Ben Paschall, Floyd LIsle, Mrs. Riley Gibbs; his brothers - Tom Lisle, P.F. Lisle; one sister - Mrs. Lock Ribble; one half-brother - Wade Lisle; one half-sister - MRs. Walter Johnson.
