|Birth: ||Mar. 31, 1850|
|Death: ||Nov. 15, 1915|
Her son, Thomas Harris, signed off on her death certificate #28623, and named her as Jane Alverson but the on-line death index shows her as Jesse Alverson, which is an error. Cause of death listed as chronic intestinal nephritis. She was buried in the Williams Cemetery near her brother Robert L.
Married twice - first to James Harris and second to Thomas Alverson.
Thank you again William for managing this and transferring to me. Melissa has been somewhat of a mystery for years. She married James Harris and when he died she married Thomas J. Alverson, however records being like they were, alot of people have her listed as Melosa J. Harris birthdate 1852 and haven't put the connection together. The death certificate with the names of her father and mother listed was the proof. Now I'm looking for some kind of picture to go with this memorial, and a tombstone picture of her and my Grandfather. I have not been able to find a marriage license, but according to the 1900 cencus it said married for 11 years, so one can assume 1889. Thomas and Melissa had one child together, Benjamin Harrison Alverson born 1890, although Melissa had 3 by her prior marriage to James Harris.
