Robert R. Seyller, 83 of Burlington passed away Friday, evening, April 2, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 14, 1927 on the family farm in Burlington the son of Anthony and Anna (Schlick) Seyller. Bob was a lifelong resident of the Burlington area and educated in Burlington Schools. He married Charlotte M. Herrmann at the St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire on July 28, 1948. They farmed south of Burlington for 23 years, before he started working for the Illinois State Highway Department for 8 years. He retired after driving truck for Burrens Transfer of Elgin for 20 years. Bob was a lifelong member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters and a life member of the Elgin Moose #799. Surviving are his wife Charlotte (61 years); four sons, Dennis (Lana) and Rodney (Penny) both of Elgin, Chuck (Sandy) of Burlington and Robert K. of Cortland; six grandchildren; and 8½great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, David, James and Richard Seyller; and his sister, Dorothy Watters. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 6th at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 East Jefferson Street, Hampshire with Fr. Joseph Nicolosi officiating. Burial will be in the St Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, April 5, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church with a Rosary at 3:15 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Burlington Ambulance Services or to the Hampshire/Burlington Senior Services.
