He was a crewman on B-24J #44-41222, nicknamed 'Lovable Lorena', assigned to the 10th Air Force, 7th Bombardment Group, 492nd Bombardment Squadron. On July 28 1945, they were making a night flight to carry a cargo of fuel over the Himalayas to China when they crashed on takeoff from Tezpur air base in India. Taylor died five days later, the rest of the crew died in the crash.

Funeral services for Pfc. Frank B. Taylor, Jr., 23, who died of injuries August 2, 1945. following a plane crash, in the CBI Theatre July 28, 1945, are to be held from the First Christian church in Blooming Grove Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
The rites will be conducted by Rev. James O. Wright, minister; Rev. Ben C. Turpine, Fort Worth, and Rev. Rawlins Cherryholmes, Gainesville, a former pastor.
Pfc. Taylor, a graduate of Corsicana High School, was an aerial engineer, U. S. Army Transport Command, stationed in India, flying supplies to China at the timeof his death. He had been in the army four years. He was president of the student council at the Corsicana junior high school and attended A&M College.
The body arrived in Corsicana Wednesday morning and will remain at the McCormick Funeral Chapel until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion in Blooming Grove Pfc. Taylor resided with an aunt, Mrs. Will S. Knight, while attending school here.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Frank B. Taylor, Blooming Grove, and a number of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
