Arnold Oscar Anderson, 96, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Stepping Stones Foster Home in Bemidji.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with Rev. James Darchuck officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the East Zion Cemetery in Leonard.
He was born Dec. 29, 1911, to Andrew and Anne (Larson) Anderson in Leonard. He attended school and was raised in Leonard. He married Dora May Cookson. He farmed most of his life. He also had a saw mill and sawed for neighbors for many years. He spent two summers in Alaska doing carpentry work. During his lifetime he lived and worked in Leonard, Cottonwood, Ariz., and Bemidji.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammi (Areln) Hiembach of Leonard; Son, Jonny Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandsons; great-grandson; sister, Eleanor Burgess of Raymond, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; sisters, Alvina Horgan, Agnes Johnson, Helen Anderson and Ruby Rhen and brothers, Edwin, Andy and Kenneth Anderson.
