Anna (Anne) Matilda Neff Convery, age 89, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 26, 1999 at her daughter's home in Sarasota, Florida. She was born February 19, 1910, in Armstrong, Indiana to Frank Xavier and Elizabeth Wildeman Neff.

Anna was raised in St. Philip and Evansville, Indiana along with her 9 brothers and sisters. She attended St. Philip Church and Grade School and St. Boniface Church, Grade School and High School in Evansville. She graduated from St. Boniface in 1927. She was a devout Catholic for her entire life.

She married Francis Patrick Convery May 12, 1932, at St. Columba's Cathedral in Youngstown, Ohio.

Anna and Francis settled in Omaha, Nebraska in 1932 and made it their home for over fifty years. After raising four children, Anna was a representative for Avon Cosmetics. She was the recipient of many awards and gracious comments for her successes in that career. Francis retired from the Post Office in 1966.

In 1983, Anna and Francis moved to Sarasota, Florida, where they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 12, 1992. Francis passed away in Sarasota September 5, 1992. For the past 7 years, Anna lived with and was lovingly cared for in Sarasota by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Chuck Bennett, and their family.

Anna is survived by her four children: Charles Francis (Mae) Convery of East Brunswick, New Jersey; Mary Patricia (Chuck) Bennett of Sarasota, Florida; Kathleen Ann Bogan of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Daniel Joseph (Barbara) Convery of Modesto, California; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; friends and acquaintances.

In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her Mother in 1941 and Father in 1948; 5 brothers: Alvin (Marie) Neff in 1962, Frank (Mary) Neff in 1967, Sylvester (Henrietta) Neff in 1971, Julius (Evelyn) Neff in 1947, and Urban Neff in 1975; 4 sisters: Lillian (Sebastian) Riedford in 1970, Florence (Alex) Fischer in 1977, Anita (Albert) Dietsch in 1971, and Marie (Joseph) Schenk in 1989; and 1 granddaughter: Cristin Melanie Bogan in 1989.

Funeral Services were held on June 3, 1999 at St. Joseph's Church, St. Joseph, Indiana, the Rev. Richard Wildeman officiating. Anna was laid to rest, next to her husband, in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana.
