Hattie was the fifth of six children born to Philippina (Knoebel) and Andrew J. Glaser. On September 11, 1913 she married Paul R. Anklam. Paul and Hattie never had any children. Sadly, Paul predeceased Hattie in 1945. They were great friends of Meta and Emil Belling, and after Meta died in 1957, Hattie and Emil were married.

Mrs. Emil Belling(Hattie B. Glaser Anklam) Age 92, died unexpectedly at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. She was born August 20, 1890, in the Town of Addison, Wisconsin, and was an Appleton resident for many years. She was employed by the Conway Hotel for 30 years until her retirement. Mrs. Belling was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Louise Glaser, Appleton; Mrs. Anita Glaser, Aurora, Illinois; two stepgrandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Anklam; and her second husband, Emil Belling, a stepdaughter, three brothers and two sisters. The complete funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, with the Rev. Ralph C. Waack officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established for St. Paul Lutheran Church.


Emil was buried with his first wife, Meta, in Riverside Cemetery, and Hattie was buried next to her first husband, Paul R. Anklam, in Highland Memorial.
