Marion was my Great-Grandfather.

He was the third of nine children born to John MILER (1821-1891) and Rebecca Ellen NAPIER (1831-1907).

He married Eliza Mann Lynch on February 21st, 1882, in Maysville, MO.

Together they had nine children:

Lola Mabel (1883-1913)
Aria Ellen (1885-1902)
Roy Gilbert
Rosa Pearl
Kirk Etna
Sidney Lynch
Grace (1900-1900)
John Dekalb
Marion Delphin

The family moved from Maysville, Missouri to Okla. City, Oklahoma, in 1909. They purchased a farm in Pauls Valley, OK (later known as the Scott Ferris farm). It was a big house on a hill with ceilings that were 15 feet high on the first floor. It had a big wrap around porch that they used to spend a lot of time sitting on. When their daughter Lola died in 1913 she left behind five orphaned children. Marion and Eliza raised three of these kids and my Grandmother raised another. The other daughter was raised by Lola's husband's brother's family.

In 1924 they moved back to Missouri. Marion returned a widower in 1932 to reside once again in Pauls Valley. After his retirement he made his home with his son Roy Miler, in Pauls Valley. Part of his time was also spent with a daughter Rosa Pearl in Okla City, Oklahoma.

Marion died in McBride Hospital, Okla City, Oklahoma as the result of injuries suffered in a fall on Nov 2, 1948.

My sister Marion is named after him. Rest in peace Great Grandfather.

Cause of death: Injuries suffered in a fall.
