Son of Elwood W. Bowman and Bertha Cecelia Martin Bowman.
Harry, who resided on Tyrone Avenue, Minquadale, Delaware, served as a Private First Class with the 20th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He was "Killed In Action" during a Japanese counter-attack on Saipan while covering a change of position by soldiers of his company.
He had served with the Marines for two years and four months at the time of his death and was decorated with the Navy Cross.
