Carlton.; born in Margate, England; 15 May 1838; to America with
parents 1854; to Springfield, Mo. upon parents death to live with
brother; there in 1858 married Mike Bowren; 2 children: son deceased
and daughter Mrs. W.G. Pierce of St. Paul, Minn.; to Texas
1875-Paris, Bonham, Sherman then to Denver, Colo. For 16 yrs.;
businesswoman; lost small fortune 1896; to Bonham 1897 to live with
brother and daughter. Was with daughter in San Francisco returning
just before '06 quake; nephew and nieces Charles and Misses Grace and
Sallie Joe Carlton; expert needlewoman at one time employed in St.
Louis by excellent firm. Survivors: Brother Rev. Joshua Carlton of
Petosky, Michi.; sister Mrs. Pricilla Lane, Toronto, Canada
