John Scott was killed in a mining accident. He was knocked out of the mine lift by a passing lift and fell down the mine shaft. Age 33.

There is no Photographer on the back but there is an old Inked ID that says " J. Scott killed in the mines"
Intresting Note that there are TWO John Scotts Buried in this Cemetery, both Born in Canada. I wonder if they were some how Related As Both Died while Mining, And are now buried about 30 Feet from each other. The two color photos were taken in 1998 to show you what the Gold Hill Nevada City Cemetery Looks Like Today.
