Aase Omtvedt (Alice Benson) was born in Brunkeberg, Telemark, Norway on 27 Mar 1877 to parents Johan Knutsen Omtvedt and Gunhild Andresdatter. Alice came to this country from Norway in 1880 to Montevideo, MN, where she attended school and was confirmed in the Big Bend Lutheran Church. She was married to Ben Benson in 1901. Alice died on 31 Oct 1962. Alice and Ben Benson were the parents of three children, two of which survived infancy: Gina Benson Anderson Bercier and Thea Alvida Benson Bakken Kallock. They were also foster parents to Ellsworth Bakken/Benson, their grandson and to Ellen Evenson Brown.
Her funeral was conducted at the Antelope Valley Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Robert Salveson officiated.
