GASTON — Funeral services for Fannie Hammond, 93, will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Caughman Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Caughman Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
Born March 25, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Martin David Austin and Minnie Bair Austin. She was the last survivor of sixteen children.
Surviving are her son, Harvey C. Hammond of West Columbia, Charlie M. Hammond of Gaston; daughter, Faye H. Swindler of Gaston; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Thomas Wayne Kelly. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey J. Hammond; son, Robert L. Hammond; and grandson, Bryan Shealy.
