Justin-Cole Stewart, age 6, was born November 28, 2003, and was granted his angel wings at 12:49 a.m. on March 20, 2010, following a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Justin-Cole's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him.
Justin-Cole possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Some of Justin-Cole's favorite times were spent listening to Bluegrass music with Daddy, watching "cooking shows" with Momma and making up crazy songs with "Jasha." He also enjoyed hanging out at Nana and Papa's, going to Grandad's cabin, going to the zoo to see his favorite animals, playing "girly things" with his little sister and being a Power Ranger with Noah. He loved the days he was able to spend with his kindergarten class and his teacher Mrs. Heather.
Justin-Cole leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. His love extends to all of his wonderful "3 gold" nurses, his specialty nurse Catherine and social worker Carrie. There is a special place in our hearts for Justin-Cole's oncologist, Dr. Saylors. Justin-Cole will be dearly missed by all-his special caregivers at the Arkansas Children's Hospital. Because of their continual dedication, love and support, our sweet boy was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Justin-Cole with love and dignity in his life and also in his death.

He is also survived by his "Nana and Papa," Kathy and Bob Stewart, of Ozark; his "Grandad and Mamaw," Dave and Jackie McGehee of Blue, OK; uncles Matt and Nathan Stewart of Ozark; his great-grandmothers Laura "Granny Stewart" and Connie "Grannie Ward," both of Shirley, AR; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Earl and Izora Fitzwater and G.W. and Dollie McGehee; his paternal great-grandfathers Joe D. Stewart and Homer Ward; and his uncle Michael Stewart.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Justin-Cole's Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Ozark.
Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. at Bradford Cemetery in Shirley, AR. Pallbearers will be members from the Ozark Police Department: James Hopkins, Jon Little, Cory Tedford, Derek Nietert, Travis Ball and Justin Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Stewart, Nathan Stewart, Shannin Purtell, David Cordell, Ryan Cordell and Logan Northcott.
