Ted L. Compton 55, of Indianapolis, passed away Nov. 5, 2007. He was born in Bluffton, IN to the late Leroy "Dee" Compton and Virginia Coxen Compton. Ted graduated from Oak Park and River Forest H.S., Oak Park, IL in 1972. He earned his Radio Telephone Third Class Operator Permit in July of 1979. He worked as a janitor at the New Bethel Baptist Church, Wanamaker, and Franklin Township Community School Corp. for many years. He was a life member of the Franklin Township Historical Society and a member of the Acton United Methodist Church. Ted had many interests which included radio, television, local fairs and festivals, local history and art classes. He also enjoyed volunteering for the 500 Festival. Survivors include his mother Virginia, brothers: Jim (Laurie), Chuck (Sheila), sisters: Nancy Compton, Anita (Jeff) Hubley and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thurs. Nov. 8, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. with Funeral Service on Fri. Nov. 9, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Little and Sons Funeral Home, Stop 11 Chapel in charge of arrangements. Burial: Acton Cemetery.
