"George T. Northrup was born in Franklin, Delaware county, N.Y., in the month of April 1818, and died at his residence in Woodhull, N.Y., Nov. 28, 1886.

His funeral was largely attended on Nov. 34(?), at the Borden Baptist church.

At the age of thirty-three Mr. Northrup married Miss Emaline Stephenson and settled in Woodhull. They have reared two sons and an adopted son. He also has made a home for a niece for many years.

Mr. Northrup has been an active business man, and has secured a comfortable home which he now leaves to his wife and children. This was a great consolation during the last days of his life. He has an extensive acquaintance in this county, and has always been known as a reliable man. His word was to be depended upon. He has been a hard worker, a good manager and a bountiful provider. He has served his town as assessor for several years. He was a man of strong conviction and outspoken sentiments. He has not been known as a Christian till during his last sickness, when he joined the Methodist church and was baptised. He expressed his regrets at having neglected the Bible and the house of the Lord. Before his death he became anxious for the salvation of others, and prayed for them. E.G.W. Hall.
