AL SCHWICHTENBERG DIES AT REDFIELD HOSPITAL; SERVICES HELD SUNDAY
Funeral services for Albert H. Schwichtenberg, 63, an attendant at the Redfield State hospital for several years, were held Sunday, January 26, at 2:30 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church, Redfield. The Rev. Peter Hinrichs was in charge of the services. Burial was at the Tulare cemetery. The Coleman Funeral Home, Redfield was in charge of the services. The Paul Schleher Post Veteran of Foreign Wars conducted military services at the graveside.
Mr. Schwichtenberg died Friday, January 24, at Community Memorial Hospital, Redfield. He suffered a stroke January 18.
He was born at Crandon August 15, 1894. At the age of 16, he started working for the railroad. He enlisted in the Army in February of 1918 and served 14 months overseas. After his discharge from the Army in August 1919, he again worked for the railroad as a car inspector at Redfield and Tracy, Minnesota. On July 9, 1929, he started work at the Redfield State Hospital.
Survivors include one brother, Robert, Tulare; one sister Meta Schooneman, Escondido, California; and one brother-in-law, Emil Bobby, Ipswich.
