Maxine Evans Turpin, age 70, passed away June 29, 1995, at her home in Orem, following a long-term illness.

She was born September 30, 1924 in Clear Creek, Utah to Richard E. and Emma Tucker Evans.

She married Rex J. Turpin on October 29, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Maxine graduated from North Sanpete High School.

She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for a while.

She was very active in the LDS Church-serving as stake and ward Relief Society president, Primary president, ward organist and also with the Young Women's.

She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Rex J. Turpin of Orem; one son and two daughters, Gary (Jan) Turpin of Bountiful; Emma Jean (Glen) Cox of Orem; LaRene (Bob) Jensen of Orem; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers, Alice Daniels of West Jordan; Kent Evans of American Fork; and David Evans of Park City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 1995, at 11 a.m. at the Sharon Stake Center, 40 East 700 North, Orem.

Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday evening, from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday morning, at the stake center, one hour prior to services.

Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
