Mrs. Lona Bell Dodson, 79, died Saturday, April 21, 2001 in a Sweetwater health care center. Funeral services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Westbrook with Reverend Jim Moseley officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dodson was born July 23, 1921 in Snyder, Texas to Jim and Myrtis Daniels. She was one of sixteen children. She was a lifelong resident of Mitchell and surrounding counties, a member of the First Baptist Church in Westbrook, the Golden Age Club and the Joy Sunday School Class.

She is survived by Earl "Dutch" Doss; two daughters, Winnie Putman and Rogena Cox both of Colorado City; one brother, Robert Jay Daniels of Arlington; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, J. D. Dodson, one son, Wendell Dodson, one grandchild, one great-grandchild and fourteen brothers and sisters.
