The seventh of eight children born to John & Mary Ann (Levi) Clevenger of Franklin Co IN, Martin married Nancy Ann Tucker on 29 Mar 1855 in Osgood, Ripley Co IN, the daughter of Thomas & Jane (Gibson) Tucker of Osgood, Ripley Co IN.

Martin is mentioned in the Will of his father, John Clevenger, whose estate was administered by Henry L Gray on 7 Apr 1839 in Ripley Co IN.

1862 Civil War Index, Rush Co IN:
Martin enlisted in the Union Army, 22nd Battery Indiana Light Artillery. Entry states "never mustered", but the Civil War Soldirs and Sailors records show he served.

Martin's estate is settled in Rush County Probate Court, indicating he died just prior to that date.

"Clevenger Families of Kentucky & Their Descendants" by S Clevenger, 1997:
Martin's birth year is listed as 1837.

Burial location is per a close family member. Martin is my 2x maternal Gr-Grandfather.
