ANNA BERNICE (nee HUGHES), Tuesday, September 11, 1945, at 10:20 p.m., in her 59th year; residence, 1730 Maple St. Devoted mother of Miss Mary Alma Cissell; beloved sister of Mrs. Michael Goesman, Mrs. Rex Clark, Mrs. Richard Wicke, Mrs. Adolph Zelmer of Gillett, Wis., Joseph O., John A., Elmer and Edward Hughes. Funeral Saturday morning from Carl E. Herbold Funeral Home at 20th and Broadway at 8:30 and 9 o'clock from Sacred Heart Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.

MRS. BERNICE CISSELL DIES IN LOUISVILLE - Mrs. Bernice Hughes Cissell, 58, widow of John Cissell, for many years a resident of the Raywick community, died on Tuesday, September 11, at her home in Louisville. She had been away from this county for twenty-five or thirty years. Mrs. Cissell was born and reared in the Clear Creek section, a daughter of John and Jennie Bowman Hughes, long deceased, and was a life-long member of the Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Mary Alma Cissell of Louisville; four sisters, Mrs. Michael Goesman, Mrs. Richard Wicke, Mrs. Rex Clark and Mrs. Adolph Zelmar, the latter of Gillett, Wis.; and four brothers, G. E. and Elmer Hughes of Raywick, Joseph O. and John Albert Hughes. The funeral was Saturday morning from the Carl E. Herbold Funeral Home and the Sacred Heart Church. Buried in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Ky.
