William Luther Harris, 98, of Monterey will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, August 25 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, Livingston, TN with burial in Oakley Cemetery, Livingston, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. and until service time on Monday.
Mr. Harris died August 23, 2003 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born August 24, 1904 in Overton County to the late John and Becky Jane Walker Harris. He was a farmer.
He was affiliated with the Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Belle Harris of Monterey; sons, M. J. and Jerry Harris, both of Livingston, L. N. Harris of Monterey, & J. B. Harris of Crawford; daughters, Bertie Davidson and Carrie Vaughn, both of Livingston; and Bessie Harris of Monterey; 2 brothers, Tommy & Elbert Harris, both of Brushcreek, TN; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, & 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by parents: John & Becky Jane Walker Harris, daughter: Audie Mae Harris, sons: Billy C. & Joe L. Harris, brother: Berry Harris, and sisters: Nancy Jane Dixon, Verly Cooper, Mary Copeland, & Sarah Finley.
Pallbearers who will serve are Ronnie, Donnie, Kenny, & Kevin Smith, James & John Harris.
