William R. "Bill" Shirley, 75, passed away May 31, 2007. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Caroline Shirley; children, Steve (Cheryl) Shirley, Tom (Joy) Shirley, Susan (Duane) Enck, all of Pueblo, and Cathy (Mark) Persons of Tennessee; grandchildren, Stephanie Shirley (Josh Thompson), Stacie Shirley (Mario Mattivi), Megan Shirley, Michael Shirley, Matthey Enck, Erica Enck, Cindy (Luke) St. Clair, John Persons and Deanna Persons; Great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Thompson; and siblings, Viola Erskine, Eugene (Twila) Shirley and Lu (Sam) Putao. Preceded in death by his son, Michael Shirley; parents Raymond and Pauline Shirley; and sisters, Ruth Asher, Elizabeth Ferguson and Fern Pitcock. Bill was born April 1, 1932 in Pueblo. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Bill was an educator for many years, at Pueblo County High School, before becoming an administrator for Pueblo School District 70. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Service Monday June 4, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church.
