Professional Football Player. For seven seasons (1978 to 1984), he played at the right-defensive tackle position in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins. After attending Wesley Ray High School in Angie, Louisiana, he played collegiate football at Southern University. Chosen by the New England Patriots during the 7th round of the 1976 NFL Draft, he signed with Washington and appeared in 92 career regular season games. Brooks achieved the pinnacle of his career in 1983, as a member of the Super Bowl XVII Champion Redskins' team; where he was a part of their formidable defense which included Dave Butz and Dexter Manley. Following his playing career, he worked as an automobile salesman. His son Ahmad Brooks became a linebacker in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.
