RE: The 1880 census states his father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Virginia. There have been trees listing James O'Cull and Sarah Farrow as his parents. James O'Cull was born in Pennsylvania and Sarah Farrow was born in Virginia. It is noteworthy that Sarah would have to have been 56 years old at the time of his birth. James and Sarah could be his grandparents, although no documented connection has been made at this time.

Son of William S. Farrow 1801-1849 and Sarah Elizabeth Masterson O'Cull 1898-1849. Their children were given the O'Cull surname. William Farrow and Sarah Elizabeth Masterson married June 28, 1823 in Kentucky.

Besides her son, William, the 1850 census has Elizabeth with Thomas (Born: 1830) and Sarah J. (age 39). Sarah was her sister, Sarah Jeffers O'Cull. William Farrow, her spouse, is not listed on the 1850 census with them.
