Isaac was the son of Harvey and Elizabeth Jane (West) Gabbard. He married Lena King on October 31, 1907, in Estill County, Kentucky. They had five children, Clarence, Mabel, Sampson, Eva Mae & Ernest. Ike and Lena lived in an area of Kentucky called Station Camp until the early years of WWII. When their youngest son left for the Army they sold the family farm and moved to Connersville, IN. Ike finished his working career with the B&O railroad until a heart problem brought about his retirement.
