Dorothy C. Archer, 92, died Oct. 19 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 12, 1916, at Ellinwood, the daughter of Charles Quincy and Margaret Mae Ewers Archer. She was a longtime Ellinwood resident, formerly of Washington, D.C., Dallas, Wichita, Oklahoma City and Denver. She retired in 1981 from the title records department of Mobil Oil after 40 years in the petroleum industry. She was a 1934 Ellinwood Rural High School graduate as class valedictorian and attended Adele Hale Business College in Hutchinson.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Ellinwood, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a sister, Vivian M. Archer of Ellinwood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vida Archer, and half brothers Wayne Ward, Loyal Ward and Leonard Archer.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kimple Funeral Chapel, Ellinwood, with the Rev. Larry Young officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel United Church of Christ or to the Ellinwood Public School and Library Foundation.
