Richard Willis Milner, born March 19, 1833, was the son of Rev. John Holmes Milner and Mrs. Elizabeth Dabney Willis Milner of Pike County, Georgia. He married Sarah 'Sallie' Elizabeth Ravens on December 12, 1855. They had four children, John Holmes Milner who served as Sheriff of Pike county for 12 years; Nancy E. "Willie" Willis Milner Strickland; Mary Eliza Milner Lee and Martha Amaretta "Dixie" Milner Hooten. He served in the War Between the States as listed below and died on December 16, 1862, buried in Concord on January 16, 1863. See obit that follows in photographs as a jpg file.
