"MRS. MAE FARR JAMES died at her home in Canastota May 17 after a short illness. A physician was called but she died before he arrived. She was born at Parish on Oct., 1878, a daughter of Gordon and Anna Farr. She had lived in Canastota for 45 years and was a dressmaker. Her husband is janitor for the library and hospital. Surviving are her husband; a son, Carl of Syracuse; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren." [Madison County Times (Chittenango, NY), Fri., May 21, 1948]
