Richard Hodges is listed as Pvt. in the 6th Maryland Regiment under Captain Jashua Miles. He enlisted on 9 September 1778 for one years service. Later he was listed as member of Chaplain's Co. He was discharged in Jan of 1780.

Service information above from "Soldier'snd Patriots of American Rev. Buried in Indiana" Published by the DAR in 1938.
His name is on a Bronze Tablet at Versailes Ind. set by the DAR.
He may have been a commissioned officer later in war as he was listed as a LT from SC in pension records.
Richard was awarded bounty land in or around 1814 for his service in the revolution. His land is very near this cemetery.
