Prominent Citizen of Pike County Passes
The death of Bro. W.A. Adams, one of Pike's best-known citizens, occurred August 4th at his home near Lifsey Springs. He had been in declining health for several years but was confined to his bed only a short time. Bro. Adams was a man who enjoyed the confidence, trust and esteem of all his associates, and was admired for his sterling qualities of character. He was a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church and lived a life of usefulness and service. Besides being a deacon in the church he was superintendent of our Sunday school for quite a number of years. We can all but hear him speak the closing words of each service "Now, let's live right, do right and be able to meet our Father in peace." A splendid motto to live by. Bro. Adams live to be sixty-nine years old. He is a wife and eight children to mourn his passing, Jesse Adams, Bainbridge; Mrs. Lily Scoggins, Molena; Howard Adams, Lifsey; Mrs. Georgia Mangham, Lifsey; Mrs. Maggie Waller, Molena; Mrs. Doll Trawick, Fort Valley; Mrs. Mamie Landers, Lifsey, and Sam Adams, Griffin. The entire Sunday school extends sympathy and commend you to his God for comfort.
